Karl Rove, Once Again A Deer In The Headlights
Rove testified again today, his 4th time thus far, in front of the Grand Jury investigating the Valerie Plame leak. Previously, the prosecutor had guaranteed that Rove would not be a target for indictment. Before his testimony today, however, the prosecution informed Rove that they could no longer make that guarantee.
My feeling on this is that, yeah, Rove did it. Libby will go down as the fall guy, but this was, IMHO, clearly orchestrated by Rove. It's got the fingerprints of his MO all over it. They had to take Joseph Wilson down for having the GALL to show evidence that the grounds for invading Iraq were, well, faulty at best. And this is the weapon they chose.
But like I said, most likely Libby will take the fall. Rove will remain, however, always as Lady Macbeth trying to wash the blood from his hands.
