The New Spectator Sport Sweeping The Nation!
NASCAR, America's heretofore most favorite talent-optional televised sport has been supplanted by Who's More Sanctimonious!. It seems to have peaked now with this Schiavo business, as it was going strong before. I think it’s been syndicated on every station. I’m sure you’ve seen it. Jeb Bush is looking pretty good this season, but Tom DeLay has been coming up strong on the last few laps.
Sadly though, many fans actually believe the sincerity of the competitors. The viewers trust that the players actually have compassion and feelings for Mrs. Schiavo.
But hey, ratings are great, so who cares?
